Legislative Assemblies play an important role in our system of governance because they undertake very crucial functions of oversight, representation and legislation at the County level. The Assemblies are the gatekeepers of public resources who represent the interest of the electorates and as such they ensure the peoples’ will is safeguarded.

Message from the county assembly clerk
The purpose of this website is to act as a link between the Assembly, the electorate and all stakeholders. It details the day to day activities of the Members of the County Assembly (MCAs) and Staff in ensuring that Nyeri County is well represented, necessary legislations are enacted, and oversight of the Executive is done accordingly. It thus conveys our vision of becoming an effective, efficient and transformative Assembly.

The County Assembly Committee on Legal Affairs, Public Service and Administration chaired by Hon. Eng Clement Warutere ,held a consultative meeting with Officers from the County Executive led by the Acting County Secretary Kimani Rucuiya in order to shed light on the various bars operating within Konyu Ward which are within a 300 meter radius of schools.![]()

This follows a request for statement by Konyu Ward MCA Hon. Julius Kamiri, on the plans put in place to ensure the Nyeri residents fully comply with the Nyeri County Alcoholic Drinks Control Act, 2024. In addition, the officers were put to task to explain whether they strictly applied the requirements of the laws on approval.![]()

The Committee on Public Investments chaired by Hon.Stanely Wakibia, held a consultative meeting with officers from Nyeri Water and Sanitation Company Limited (NYEWASCO)led by the Managing Director Eng. Peter Kahuthu to deliberate and respond to the Audit Queries raised by the Auditor General in the reports of NYEWASCO for the financial years ended 30th June 2022 and 2023.
